Anuj Gupta
| Project: One World United was founded in 2008 by then 16 year old Anuj Gupta. His involvement in activism began when he was selected as a youth leader from his region to attend the NetAid/Mercy Corps Global Summit in NYC at Adelphi University. One of 40 students that were chosen in the country to attend the summit. Anuj was given the opportunity to attend a Climate Change Symposium at the World Bank in Washington D.C. Lastly, what made Anuj decide to start his own non-profit organization was when he was selected to attend a lobbying effort by the Global Campaign for Education. After he lobbied for the Education for All Act, he knew that education for all must be his first priority. At school, Anuj started the International Awareness Club where he successfully created an HIV/AIDS Campaign that broadcasted to over 5,000 people . He also created a program for elementary students about education and also had a school supply drive where his club collected over 300 school supplies that they sent to Beijing, Paraguay, Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Burundi.
